Book week celebrations return to Greenslopes!
Friday the 22nd August saw the return of one of the most celebrated days in the Greenslopes State School calendar. Book week!
Every book is special at Greenslopes and we love to celebrate reading everyday, but this week in August is one of our favourites, as everyone dresses up in their favourite character.
Our staff took on the theme from Wizard of Oz by L Frank Baum. The original book, illustrated by W. W. Denslow was published in 1900. This book was released when Greenslopes State School was 10 years old.
Lots of our students and their families went the extra mile in making costumes for their children to wear. Prizes were awarded by our Teacher Librarian Claire Randall.
We want to thank everyone for getting so involved and we look forward to next year. In the meantime, get down to our library and get reading!
