Early Years Learning
Greenslopes State School is committed to provide quality teaching and learning opportunities for every individual child. The abilities and needs of each child varies along with their social and cultural backgrounds. Here at Greenslopes, each child is recognised for what they can do, and learning experiences encourage and allow children to link prior knowledge and understandings to new learning. Children in the early years are supported in their learning through play, real-life situations, routines and transitions, investigations and focused learning and teaching sessions.
Children’s experiences with other children and adults influence their attitudes to learning and their ability to interact with others. Here at Greenslopes, we provide a safe and supportive environment where children feel secure, valued and accepted. Positive lifelong attitudes to learning are established.
The Early Years Learning areas of Prep and key learning areas of primary school are carefully linked to provide continuous learning opportunities for children across year levels. It is important to note, however, that learning experiences are often integrated across many learning areas.
